PURPOSE:To control accurately a soaking temp. without requiring intricate calculation by providing a monitor zone between a heating zone and a soaking zone to compensate the quantity of the dissipated heat and providing means for controlling the temp. of the heating zone according to a change in a furnace temp. CONSTITUTION:A partition wall 4 is disposed between a heating zone 6 and a soaking zone 7 and a monitor zone 5 is provided. The relation between the temp. of a holding furnace and the quantity of the heat to be charged is preliminarily stored in a control device 13 and the target temp. of a soaking furnace is set. The soaking zone 7 and the monitor zone 5 are set at the target soaking temp. of a metallic strip 2 and the heating zone 6 is set at the temp. conforming to the treating quantity. The quantity of the heat dissipated in the zone 5 is compensated by a heater 10 of the 1st heating means. The temp. of the zone 5 is measured by a thermocouple 8 and is compared with a target temp. The quantity of the heat conforming to the deviation thereof is applied by a heater 12 of a control system for the zone 6 and a feedback control is accomplished so as to attain the target temp. in the monitor zone 5. |
