The circuit arrangement for lighting systems for cycles has at least one lamp (L), one dynamo (G), one battery (B) and one change-over arrangement (U) which actuates the lamp (L) as a function of the electrical power provided by the dynamo (G). The dynamo (G) is continuously loaded by a series circuit consisting of a measuring resistor (R1) and the lamp (L) so that even in battery mode its "no-load voltage" is not reached. In order to prevent reverse currents from the battery to the dynamo (G), a diode (D1) is connected in series with the measuring resistor (R1). In dynamo operation, this series circuit consisting of diode (D1) and measuring resistor (R1) is bypassed, i.e. short-circuited, by means of a relay switch. <IMAGE>
