PURPOSE:To improve the cold workability and strength of a shape memory Cu- Zn-Al alloy without exerting any influence on the shape memory effect by combinedly adding Cr and P to the alloy. CONSTITUTION:This shape memory Cu-Zn-Al alloy consists of, by weight, 0.05- 10.0% Al, 9.0-40.0% Zn, 0.001-0.8% each of Cr and P, and the balance Cu. By combinedly adding said prescribed amount each of Cr and P to a shape memory Cu-Zn-Al alloy, the coarsening of the grains during heat treatment can be inhibited without exerting any influence on the shape memory effect, and an excellent fine-grained alloy is obtd. Accordingly, this alloy has superior cold workability and strength. |
