PURPOSE:To perform satisfactory welding of a hardly meltable metal and graphite and to obviates formation of carbide in the graphite even if temp. is high by incorporating a specific wt% of ruthenium, titanium and molybdem in the component of a brazing material. CONSTITUTION:A brazing material 3 is obtd. from a powder mixture composed, by weight, of 30-55% ruthenium and the balance molybdenum or sintering said powder mixture into a plate shape. The material 3 is disposed between a graphite plate 1 and a hardly metable metallic plate 2 such as molybdenum or the like and is heated in a vacuum heating furnace, by which brazing is accomplished. Since the graphite plate 1 and the hardly meltable metallic plate 2 have good weldability with the material 3, excellent brazing is accomplished and even if the graphite exposed to a high temp., formation of carbide is obviated. Excellent brazing is equally accomplished in the case of the brazing material consisting, by weight, of 30-55% ruthenium, 0.5-7% titanium and the balance molybdenum. |
