PURPOSE:To eliminate misoperation due to suction of bubbles accurately by detecting the direction of opening or closing depending on whether two electrodes provided at both ends of an ink feed valve conducts or not to prevent bubbles from being sucked into a head due to vibration resulting from transportation or the like. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 12 and 14 concurrently serving as a connection pipe for ink pipings 11 and 18 are provided at both ends of an ink feed valve 2 and current flows therethrough from leads 16 and 17 to check whether they conducts or not. The opening or closing of the ink feed valve 2 is determined by the rotating direction of the valve 15. So to speak, the feed valve 2 is closed with the value 15 and ink is separated to the right and left of the valve 15. When the valve 15 is rotated by 90 deg. from this state, an ink passage is connected. Ink from an ink storage container 1 passes through an ink piping 3 and fed to an ink jet head 4 through the ink feed valve 2 to perform a recording by printing on a recording paper 5. |
