PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, lightweight video recording and reproducing device with good-sensitivity magnetic heads for both vertical recording and reproduction by providing a magnetic head support with the vertical recording and reproducing heads and in-surface recording and reproducing magnetic heads successively, and forming a magnetic wall closely to a magnetic tape sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:The vertical recording and reproducing magnetic heads 100 and 110 and in-surface recording and reproducing magnetic heads 120 and 130 are attached on the bottom surface 32 (i.e. surface facing the top surface of a fixed cylinder 20) of rotary cylinder 30 at specific intervals, and the magnetic wall 140 which covers the external rotational track surface of the magnetic tape sliding surface of the vertical magnetic and reproducing heads 100 and 110 almost by one round is provided closely opposite the external rotational track surface. Consequently, a magnetic flux component which operates effectively for vertical magnetic recording piercing the vertical magnetism recording layer of a magnetic tape 10 at right angles increases and the recording reproducing sensitivity of the magnetic heads is therefore improved. |
