PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization of a device and efficiency use of it by using by an abbreviated dial transmission means used normally as abbreviated dial in common use for an automatic dial for calling a pocket bell at the automatic answering mode. CONSTITUTION:In case of abbreviated dial mode, an abbreviated number inputted from dial key circuit 3 is converted into a corresponding telephone number by a dial signal generating circuit 2 having a memory function and transmitted to a line L. On the other hand, in case ot the automatic answering mode, after the information transmitted from the opposite side is recorded to a sound recording/reproducing circuit 8, the line is released once. After the elapse of a prescribed time next, a contact rh in parallel connection with a contact of a hook switch Hs is closed and brought into the off-hook state and a control signal is transmitted from the control circuit 4 to an abbreviated dial number data generating circuit 12. The circuit 12 transmits the abbreviated number corresponding to a pocket bell telephone number to the dial signal generating circuit 2, which reads the said pocket bell calling telephone number and transmits it to the line L.
