PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the heat exchanging performance by a method wherein a heat exchanging tube is provided penetrating through heat transferring fins of upright layered fin parts and metallic hydride is filled between heat transfer fins. CONSTITUTION:Upright heat transfer fin parts 8 are formed in which heat transfer fins being layered in multiple stage with intervals, and many U-type heat exchange tubes 9 are provided penetrating through heat transfer fins 7. Metallic hydrogen compound 10 is filled to each stage of heat transfer fins at the 50% filling rate. Filters 11 are attached at every other three sides of the upright layered fin parts 8 of hexagonal outsides. Heat exchanger body which is composed like this, is installed in a pressure vessel 1 applied lining with heat insulating material. The heat exchange performance between metallic hydride and heat exchange fluid is improved, because heat transfer fins are layered in multiple stages, and metallic hydride is filled between said fins and, moreover, hydrogen gas permeates through each stage.
