PURPOSE:To make a proper jam discrimination, and prevent malfunction and obtain an excellent image by controlling a process of image formation with a timing signal, and judging on whether transfer paper is discharged within a prescribed time or not and detecting a jam. CONSTITUTION:Sequence control over image formation is performed with a timing signal according to a control program from ROMs of a CPU. Probe signals O1-O3 from the CPU are inputted to a matrix circuit, and PEP (paper empty signal), LEP (liquid empty signal), size signal, etc., from respective detecting elements, microswitches, etc., are inputted to I1, I2, I4, and I8 and process to otutput driving signals from an output circuit. A jam check is made repeatedly with a signal JAMK to decide that a jam occurs unless paper is discharged within the specific time; and a fixing heater is powered off and a main motor stops, but a platen stops at its home position. Consequently, a proper jam decision is made and malfunction is prevented to obtain an excellent image. |
