PURPOSE:The titled composition having excellent dispersion stability, mechanical properties, moldability, and flame retardancy, made by incorporating a specified styrene-methyl methacrylate graft polymer into a composition comprising a PS resin and a PVC resin. CONSTITUTION:A prepolymer with one carboxylic acid terminal having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000-20,000, made by the radical polymeriza- tion of methyl methacrylate in the presence of thioglycolic acid is reacted with glycidyl methacrylate to obtain methyl methacrylate macromonomer. The macromonomer and styrene monomer are graft polymerized to obtain a styrene-methyl methacrylate graft polymer (B) having a number-average molecular weight of at least 5,000. Then, 0.3-30pts.wt. component (B) is incorporated into 100pts.wt. composition (A) comprising a PS resin and a PVC resin. |
