Prosthetic heart valve includes a stent having an annular base and upright posts. Tissue valve means are secured to the outside of the posts by stitching which also passes through the inner layer of a folded fabric strip covering each post. The outer layer of each strip covers the knots of the stitching. Specifically the interior of the stent has a Dacron (RTM) velour fabric (I) covering and the exterior of each of 3 posts is covered with (I). Valve may include a 3-layered pad of Teflon (RTM) fabric.
