PURPOSE:To attain satisfactory insertion recording with simple constitution by performing the overlap recording at a section corresponding to the distance between the scan position of a rotary head at both start and end terminals of a part performing the insertion recording and an erasion head. CONSTITUTION:Rotary heads HV1 and HV2 record signals after giving an oblique scan onto a magnetic tape T. A fixed head 6 records a control signal at the fringe part of the tape T. A fixed erasion head 9 is set near a rotary drum and erases only the area recorded by the rotary heads. When the insertion recording is carried out to the middle part of the tape where the signals are already recorded, the overlap recording is carried out with the increment of the signal current supplied to the rotary heads and in a section corresponding to the distance between the head 9 and the scan positions of the rotary heads at both start and end terminals of a part where the insertion recording is performed. The part in- between is recorded after it is erased by the head 9. |
