The vehicle power unit comprises an IC engine, supercharger in the air intake-line, and charge cooler downstream of this. Preceding the cooler (4) there is an oil-separating chamber in which the supercharger (3) lubricating oil entrained by the air is extracted. The oil-separating chamber (6) is integrated into the cooler inlet header; there is a connection (9) from it to a point in the induction-line (2) downstream of the throttle (12) or to the engine sump, and this contains a flow-restrictor (10) and an NRV (11).
