PURPOSE:To smooth the electrode surface of a fuel cell by comprising an electrode arranged on both sides of an electrolytic plate which a flat-type porous plate in which a peripheral location is not provided with a connecting hole and the connecting hole is placed at another location except at the peripheral location. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell is comprised by arranging an electrode on both sides of an electrolytic plate and a separator outside the electrode. In this case, a perforated plate used as an electrode substrate is comprised with a flat-type porous plate in which a peripheral location 2 and a disconnection location 1 are not provided with a connecting hole and the connecting hole is provided at other locations. After the plate is immersed in a catalytic slurry container sequentially from the tip and passes through between slits, it is dried and sintered. Then an electrode with an electrochemical reaction section 3 at a section other than an outer fringe section 2 is formed by cutting the plate to fixed dimensions at the disconnection location 1. As a result, a thin and smooth electrode can be obtained and battery performance can be improved by decreasing internal resistance and increasing the property of sealing. |
