PURPOSE:To improve strength of a Braun tube, by adapting the metallic blanket, which is provided in the space to be filled with the coolant between the faceplate of the Braun tube and a glass plate placed in front thereof, to be formed into an L shape and projecting from the front surface of the glass plate. CONSTITUTION:A metallic blanket 10 is disposed through adhesive 4 in the space filled with a cooland 2 between the faceplate 1 of a Braun tube and a glass plate 3 placed in front thereof. The metallic blanket 10 is formed into an L shape and the same is disposed so that its one face is in parallel with the faceplate and the other face is in parallel with the skirt portion and projecting frontward from the front surface of the glass plate 3. Around the maximum- diametered portion of the Braun tube is wound an adhesive tape 6, and a metallic shield and bind band 7 is strongly put thereon to prevent leakage of X-ray. By the described arrangement, the blanket 10 is held strong since there is no cut portion made therein and the purpose to protect the glass plate 3 is also achieved thereby. |
