Element for erecting a soundproofing wall, comprising two spaced-apart groups of wooden uprights which are firmly connected to one another and run vertically in the use position. The individual uprights of the two groups are at a distance from one another and are provided with a horizontal trelliswork which is produced, for example, also from wood. A panel produced from mineral wool is provided between the groups of uprights and a soundproof wall is provided on the side of the mineral wool panel which is remote from the sound waves. The mineral-wool panel is formed from a first layer, located on the side exposed to sound waves, having a density of 100 to 130 kg/m<3> and from a second layer, bearing against the first, having a density of 60 to 80 kg/m<3>. The soundproof wall is further formed by an asbestos-cement panel. <IMAGE>
