The haymaking machine consists of rakes (22) provided with tines (37). As the rakes rotate about axes (14) a sun wheel (25) cooperates with pinions (24, 26) to rotate the tines about further axes (27). The tines rotate at half the speed of the rakes so that the first one and then the other tine of each pair is in operative position on successive revolutions of the rakes. The tines are pivotable about axes (32) to follow unevenness in the ground. A crop crusher (41) may receive the crop as it issues from the rakes.
