PURPOSE:To radiate satisfactorily SIGMA and DELTA patterns, and to simplify a constitution of a circuit by exciting four elements of antenna elements arranged at equal intervals on the circumference, by two kinds of voltages whose phase is different from each other. CONSTITUTION:Antenna elements 601-608 are arranged so as to make an angle of 45 deg. to each other by measuring it from the center of a circle. When a transmission is executed in the direction of theta=0 deg., a SIGMA pattern excites only four elements 601, 602, 607 and 608, and sets them to the same phase in the direction of 0 deg.. That is a voltage V1 and a voltage V2 are fed to the elements 601, 608, and 602, 607, respectively, the phase of V1 is delayed by 2piS/lambda(lambda: a free space wavelength) from V2, and the phases are made equal in the direction of 0 deg.. Subsequently, DELTA pattern feeds a voltage V3 and the voltage V2 to the elements 601, 608, and 602, 607, respectively, delays the phase of V3 by 2piS/lambda+pi comparing with V2, and negates the phase in the direction of 0 deg.. In this regard, the same array constitution can be used in other direction than the transmission in the direction of 0 deg., as well. |
