A production device for cellulose paper filters for cigarettes comprises a sprayer (3), groove rollers (4,4'), a dryer (6), compression rollers (7,7') and a cone (12). A cellulose paper strip (1), which passes through the sprayer has a water content of 25%. Folds are formed on the strip by the groove rollers. The strip is dried and passed into the cone to prepare a filter rod. The filter rod (13) is packed and cut.
