The rollers 2-4 are supported by pairs of pivotable arms 8a, (8b), 9a, (9b), 10a, 10b, Figs. 1 (not shown), 2 and 3, and two rollers 2, 3 may have respective belt drives 16a, 16b, 17a, 17b from a motor 13. The arms, e.g. 10a, 10b, are pivotable on fixed posts, e.g. 10c, and are biased by spring 25-27 to move the rollers 2-4 inwardly. Each sleeve 1 has a collar 44 for engaging the arms 8a, 9a 10a to define the operative position of the rollers 2-4, and a disc 18 is pivotable manually or by a solenoid 29 to move the rollers 2-4 outwardly for sleeve interchange by means of slots 19-21 engaging guide pins 8e-10e of the arms 8a &c In operation, coins are counted or fed as a group into the sleeve 1 to rest on a stop (40), Fig. 5 (not shown), at its lower end. Paper from a reel (68) is fed by rollers (70), (71) through a guide track (69) and past a cutter (72) to surround the coin stack. Folding hooks 48, 49, drawn together by a spring 50 under the control of a rotary cam disc 51 and lever 55, are then engaged with the free edges of the paper to crimp the ends of the wrapper surrounding the stack. The stop (40) may then be retracted on a parallelogram linkage (41) to allow the wrapped coins (39) to reach a discharge outlet (39), the rollers 2-4 being retracted by actuation of the solenoid 29 to free the package. |
