<p>PURPOSE:To recover carrier particles with high efficiency by separating floc and carrier particles from treated waste water using a cyclone provided between an outlet of treated waster wate and a settling tank and transporting the floc alone to the settling tank. CONSTITUTION:Raw water W is injected into a treating tank 1 and air lift is formed by air A. The raw water rises the space between a partition wall 2 and a vertical wall of the tank together with carrier particles 8 having activated sludge deposited thereon, and overflows at the level exceeding the partition wall, then flows downward along the wall of another tank tapered with >=50 deg. angle, and rises again together with freshly injected waste water and circulates around the partition wall. Carrier particles which have formed flocs by the deposition of impurities or bubbles in the waste water have smaller specific gravity than original carrier particles, therefore, it is discharged to the outside of the system togerher with treated waste water. Treated waste water discharged to the outside of the system and contg. accompanying carrier particles flows into a cyclone 5 through a conducting pipe 4.</p> |
