PURPOSE:To pull up a billet to a uniform wall thickness in pulling-up type continuous casting of a thin plate by using a rotary casting mold by pressing a non-cooled stationary casting mold to the outside circumference in the projecting part at both ends of the rotary casting mold and pulling up the thin plate from the forming space between both casting molds thereby casting continuously said plate. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal 2 introduced through a pouring spout 7 is removed of surface slag by a gate 6 and is cooled and solidified in the intermediate cylindrical part 3a between both ends 3b of a water-cooled rotary casting mold 3 then the molten metal is pulled up in the form of a billet 1. The wall thickness of the pulled-up billet 8 is made uniform by a non-cooled stationary casting mold 8 which contacts with the outside circumference at both ends 3b. The shaft part 3d of the mold 3 is supported by a shaft retaining spring to prevent the generation of the excessive force of resisting slide with the mold 8. |
