An adjustable chair comprises a support frame (1) and a resting part (3). The latter is formed by a backrest part (27), a seat surface part (23) and a leg rest part (33). The backrest part (27) and the seat surface part (23) are connected pivotably (29), as are the seat surface part (23) and leg rest part (33) at a bearing (31). The seat surface part (23) is arranged pivotably at a bearing (25) on the support frame (1). The relative angular movements of the backrest part (27), seat surface part (23) and leg rest part (33) are guided by a movement guide which is arranged below the seat surface part (23) approximately in the plane of symmetry of the chair and is formed by a plate (17), arranged on a crossmember (15) of the support frame, with a guide slot (19). A bolt or a roller (47) runs on the backrest part (27) in the guide slot. <IMAGE>
