PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the color of an object when observers of various ages observe the color, by providing light receiving devices having each characteristic of a color matching function and each characteristic of deviation function, and providing a coefficient device, which is correlated with the ages of the observers. CONSTITUTION:Filters 10, 13 and 16 of a light receiving part 3 have the characteristics suitable for the CIE color matching functions for the 10 deg. fields of view. Filters 11, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18 have the positive characteristics of the three deviation functions. The outputs from the light receiving part 3 are converted into electric signals. Of these signals, the signals from the filters 11, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18 are inputted to a multiplier 5 and multiplied by the coefficients, which are determined by a coefficient device 6 and determine the color matching functions of the ages. The result is inputted to an adding and subtracting circuit 7. Meanwhile, the optical outputs from the filters 10, 13 and 16 are directly processed in the circuit 7, and the tristimulus values of an object 1 are determined for the matching functions of the ages. Based on the tristimulus values, various colorimetry values are computed by an operating circuit 8 and displayed. Thus, the color of the object, which is observed by the various observers of the various ages, can be measured. |
