The invention relates to a device for protecting a liquid contained in a tank of the motor vehicle fuel tank type. It consists of a tube 1 in which there are placed obstacles 2 forming baffles. This device is interposed between the fuel filler neck 4 and the tank 3. The baffles formed by the obstacles 2 prevent the penetration of a flexible tube allowing the tank to be syphoned.
