PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply control a ship upon not only normal sailing but also low speed sailing or even upon ship stoppage, with no ship controll device such as, for example, a rudder or a side thruster being required, in a ship propeller device having a plurality of propeller blades, by providing an adjusting mechanism for the rake and pitch angles of the propeller blades so that the pitch angle of each blade is cyclically changed in accordance with the controlling amount of the ship. CONSTITUTION:The root section of each propeller blade 1 stored in a propeller shaft 2 is formed in a spherical shape as a ball joint 3 and is engaged with a guide section formed in the propeller shaft 2 with the propeller blade 1 being pivotally attached to the propeller shaft 2. A lever 5 which is orthogonal to the base end shaft 4 of the properller blade 1 is swung by extending and retracting rods 6, 6 which are controlled by actuators. That is, the pitch angle of the propeller blade 1 may be adjusted when one of the rods 6, 6' is advanced and the other is retracted, and the rake angle of the propeller blade may be adjusted when the both rods 6, 6 are simultaneously extended or retracted. With this arrangement the acutators cyclically changes the pitch angle of propeller blades in accordance with their rotational positions and also changes their rake angles.
