PURPOSE:To prevent double-clutch operation and as well to enhance response, by providing such an arrangement that forward and backward selector valves are connected in parallel with a main circuit while first to third speed selector valves are connected in series to the main circuit, and hydraulic pressure less than engaging pressure is normally fed to a first clutch. CONSTITUTION:A forward selector valve 74 and a backward selector valve 75 are connected in parallel to a main circuit 6 while a first to third speed selector valve 71 through 73 are connected in series to the main circuit 6 so that a priority circuit is obtained. As well, hydraulic pressure less than engaging pressure is normally fed to a first clutch 81. With this arrangement, such a double-clutch operation that forward and backward clutches 84, 85 simultaneously couple may be prevented. Further, even if a rotary clutch which inevitably offers a large amount of leak is used as the first clutch 81, the rise-up is satisfactory so that response may be enhanced.
