A rapid clamping strip for attaching a printing plate to printing machines, in particular to the forme cylinder of a rotary printing machine, consists of a steel rail with a receiving slot (13) for the edge of the printing plate, a clamping jaw (9) which bounds the receiving slot (13) at the top being assigned a counter-clamping device which lies inside a longitudinal groove (4) of the steel rail (1, 2). To achieve a simple construction, provision is made according to the invention for the counter-clamping device to be a clamping rod which extends over the entire length of the rapid clamping strip, the clamping rod preferably being formed by an eccentric shaft (5) which cooperates directly with the upper clamping jaw (9). <IMAGE>
