PURPOSE:To inexpensively obtain an arom. copolyamide molding having excellent strength and resistance to heat and chemicals with good productivity, by extruding or casting an org. solvent soln. of an arom. copolyamide having a specified comoposition and solidifying the molding in an aq. coagulating bath. CONSTITUTION:An arom. copolyamide composed of a structural unit (A) of formula I (wherein Y1 is O, S, SO2, etc.; X1, X2 are each NH, CO), a structural unit (B) of formula II (wherein Ar1 is phenylene whose bond chain extends in the meta-direction) and a structural unit (C) of formula III (wherein Ar2 is phenylene whose bond chain extends in the direction of a common axis or a parallel axis) in such a proportion that the number of NH groups is equal to that of CO groups, wherein the ratio of components A, B and C to be copolymerized is within the range of a quadrangle (see, formula IV) formed by joining the points of P, Q, R and S in the figure is prepd. A solvent soln. of this copolymer is extruded through a spinneret or is cast and the molding is solidified in an aq. coagulating bath to obtain the desired arom. copolyamide molding. |
