PURPOSE:To improve the performance of following up variations in the load by driving a compressor by means of a gas engine, in which a part of an excess reformed gas is used as a fuel, and storing in a high-pressure case the compressed excess reformed gas which is then supplied to a fuel cell as occasion demands. CONSTITUTION:An original materil, after being converted into a reformed gas by means of a reactor 2 and a fuel reformer 1 having a burner 3, is supplied to a fuel cell 4. An excess reformed gas sent from the cell 4, after being reduced in its pressure by means of a pressure-controlling valve 21, is supplied to the burner 3 and supplied to a gas engine 11 through a flow-rate-controlling valve 25 to drive the engine 11. As a result, a compressor 13 is caused to operate to produce compressed gas which is then stored in a high-pressure case 15. The gas contained in the case 15 can be supplied to the fuel cell 4 through a pressure- reducing valve 16. As a result, gas can be supplied from the case 15 when the amount of the reformed gas supplied to the cell 4 becomes sufficient, thereby enabling the performance of following up the load to be improved. |
