PURPOSE:To obtain a piston excellent in strength as a whole and easy for production by forming a reinforcing member internally cast in a piston head section and a constraining member internally cast likewise in a skirt section one body. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing member 3 made of material more excellent in heat resistance and abrasion resistance is internally cast in the head section 2 of a piston proper 1 made of light alloy and a constraining member 5 cast in a skirt section 4 respectively. Either one or bort of the top section 6 of the head section 2 and a piston ring groove section 7 around the head section 2 may be used as a position where the reinforcing member 3 is internally cast. On the other hand, the circumference of the skirt section 4 is preferable as a position where the constraining member is internally cast, or the circumference of a piston pin hole 8 may be used. The reinforcing member 3 and constraining member 5 are formed in one body by a proper means such as welding. Thereby, the piston excellent in strength as a whole can be easily produced. |
