PURPOSE:To obtain a highly efficient surface wave motor by supporting an elastic unit by an elastic unit having the bending vibration of intrinsic vibration frequency and/or twisting vibration or a slide or an acoustic insulator capable of moving in parallel with the vibrating direction. CONSTITUTION:A rod-shaped elastic unit 1 creates a traveling wave due to a bending vibration, and is supported at a point A on a neutral axis B. The point A is vibrated in a perpendicular direction to the neutral axis, and simultaneously rotatably vabrated at the point A as a center. One end of an elastic unit 2 is secured to the point A, and the other end is fixedly supported. The diameter and the length of the round rod of the unit 2 are set so that the intrinsic vibration frequency of the bending and twisting of the unit 2 are equally to the vibration frequency of the traveling wave of the unit 1, thereby eliminating the influence to the vibration system of the unit 1. Accordingly, a highly efficient surface wave motor can be provided. A spring is used, or a slide member which can move in the vibrating direction, or an acoustic insulator is used to support it. |
