PURPOSE:To reduce the total length of a crankshaft by driving the cam shaft of each cylinder by a timing wheel used in common, through a belt, in an engine equipped with a plurality of cylinders in the radial direction around the crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:Cylinders are arranged radially around a crankshaft 14, and the cam shafts 36 and 38 of the intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder are driven by a timing wheel 41 commonly installed onto the crankshaft 14, through a winding transmission means 45 such as belt, etc. Therefore, since the timing wheel 41 is used in common to each cylinder, the total length of the crankshaft 14 can be reduced. Since engine width can be reduced, this apparatus can be used for a motor-cycle. |
