The invention relates to a device making it possible to suck oil from an engine sump via the gauge well and to recover it with the aid of a vacuum pump. It consists of a vacuum pump 1 at the end of which a flexible hose 3, held by a connector 2, creates a vacuum in a reservoir 5 by means of a partial vacuum retention valve 4. The user introduces the second flexible hose 8 into the engine sump, which flexible hose 8, on the one hand, ends in a connection 9 holding a semi-rigid probe 10 and, on the other hand, is connected to the reservoir 5 by a connection 7. When the user actuates the vacuum pump 1, a partial vacuum is created in the reservoir 5 and, via the flexible hose 8, the oil is sucked up and falls into the reservoir 5. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for draining any engine sump. <IMAGE>
