摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a page identifier having high accuracy with low cost by detecting the reflecting parts for identification of page formed to each mat by means of right and left photoelectric sensor trains and encoding the reflecting part in response to (n) when the mat is positioned at the n-th position at the left side and the (n+1)th position at the right side respectively. CONSTITUTION:The reflective photoelectric sensors are distributed at left and right symmetrical positions on the basis of the center of a book attaching part on the rear side of an upper surface plate of the main body of a book type multi-item input device. Plural mats 21 are bound into a book with a guide ring and can be freely opened and closed, and 15 light transmitting holes 212-1 and a reflecting part 213-1 are formed at the fringe of a mat 21-1 with a fixed pitch. The position of the reflecting part differs among those mats. The right photoelectric sensor trains R1-R16 contain 16 sensors and detect reflecting parts, respectively. The photoelectric sensor trains of the left side also perform the same detection as the right side. The mats up to the n-th position are turned to the left side: while the mats at and after (n+1)th positions are turned to the right side. Under such conditions, the outputs of the left and right sensor trains are applied to an encoder circuit to obtain an output corresponding to page (n). No code is delivered if the mat is under a turning action.
