PURPOSE:To form a rice ball stuffed with an ingredient, easily with a mold, by charging a definite amount of cooked rice in a main mold, depressing the center of the rice, putting the ingredient into the hollow part, enclosing the ingredient with the rice using a press mold having inverted U-shaped cross-section, and forming the rice to a predetermined shape with an upper mold and a lower mold. CONSTITUTION:A definite amount of cooked rice (a) is charged into the cavity of the main mold 5, and the mold is transferred to the next position, where a pressing rod 28 is lowered into the cavity to indent the center of the rice (a). The ingredient (c) is put into the hollow (b) formed on the surface of the rice (a), and an inverted U-shaped press mold 34 is inserted into the mold cavity 6 at the next position. The circumferential part of the rice (a) is pushed inward by the tapered surface of the press mold 34 to enclose the ingredient (c) in the hollow (b) with the rice (a). Thereafter, the upper mold 40 is inserted and lowered in the cavity 6 to press and form the rice (a) between the upper mold 40 and the lower mold 7. |
