PURPOSE:To produce stably and efficiently a billet having high quality by inputting information on operation to an arithmetic control device, issuing a matching command to each stage therefrom so as to maintain an optimum casting speed and issuing the command for changing the cntrol for the casting speed and cooling if the follow-up is infeasible. CONSTITUTION:The information on operation from an input device 32 for the information on operation is inputted through a signal system 33 to a transmitting device 34 for the information on operation in a continuous casting device 31. The device 34 inputs the information on the operation with the preset item to an arithmetic control device 6 via a signal system 35. The device 6 applies the command for an optimum casting speed to the device 34 from the input information via input devices 2, 10 for the information on the operation of refining and rolling installations. When the stand-by time increase and if there is the possibility of making direct rolling infeasible on account of a decrease in the temp. of a billet, the command for decreasing the casting speed and decreasing simultaneously the cooling capacity per unit time is issued to control the casting in such a way that the temp. of the billet is maintained above the lower limit temp. permissible for rolling. |
