PURPOSE:To enable high-efficiency transmission, by interposing a multistage planet gear mechanism between an input and an output shafts, coupling the internal gear of the mechanism to one of the input and the output shafts, coupling a carrier to the other, and providing brake mechanisms for plural sun gears. CONSTITUTION:When one bellows 25 of a brake mechanism 5 is hydraulically operated as an input shaft 2 is rotating, a plate 19 is braked to lock up a sun gear 11 to transmit the torque of the input shaft 2 to an output shaft 3 through an internal gear 7, a planet gear 9, a shaft 13 and a carrier 15 while rotating the output shaft more slowly than the input shaft. When the other bellows 26 is hydraulically operated, a plate 20 is braked to lock up a sun gear 12 to transmit the torque of the input shaft 2 to the output shaft 3 through the internal gear 7, a planet gear 10, a shaft 14 and the carrier 15 while rotating the output shaft more slowly than the input shaft, at a smaller reduction gear ratio than the former case. Prescribed reduction gear ratios are thus attained without adding a speed increaser, for high-efficiency transmission.
