Machine for transferring bottles, head-to-tail, between a container and an accumulation of bottles in a limited volume of a cellar. A base 1 having front 1B and rear 1A beams, mounted on wheels 3, 4, supports two stationary rear masts 7B which are spaced transversely and a front telescopic mast 21 which can be displaced along the front beam 1B whilst a platform 9 is supported so as to be displaceable vertically along the rear mast 7B in order to extend, with overhang, as far as the front beam 1A in order to support a container carrier 31 which is movable transversely on this platform 9 and which is fastened to the telescopic mast 21 in order to be raised with it and with the platform 9, this mast 21 carrying a pivoting horizontal transfer arm 25 equipped with gripping suction pads 36. <IMAGE>
