2-[2'-Hydroxy-3'-(1,1-dimethylpropylamino)propoxy]-1-thienyl- propiophenone of the formula I <IMAGE> and its acid addition salts are described. The preparation of this compound and its acid addition salts are also described. The compound and its acid addition salts have an antiarrhythmic action. They can therefore be used for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
