PURPOSE:To cut exactly a riser, etc. without leaving unnecessary parts by tracing the casting surface of the casting to be cut during cutting the riser, etc. CONSTITUTION:Tracer heads 25, 26 screwed turnably to the top ends of detecting arms 13, 14 have stylus shaft 15 which go into and emerge from the ruggedness of a casting surface. A turning lever 16 is attached freely turnably to the top end of each shaft 15 and rollers 13a, 13b are attached freely rotatably to both ends thereof. The projecting and submerging limits of the shaft 15 are detected by limit switches 23, 24. An automatic cutter 7 is first brought near a casting 30 on a turntable 5 and the positions of rollers 13a, 13b, 14a, 14b and a torch 11 are initially set by taking the thickness and position of cutting members, the shape of the casting, the intensity of a flame, etc. into consideration. When a flame is ejected from the torch 11 while the table 5 is rotated at a cutting speed, the root of a riser 4 is cut gradually while the side face and base of the casting 30 are traced. |
