<p>PURPOSE:To detect exactly a separating failure, and to eliminate its malfunction by measuring a peak value of a reflected light quantity from a photosensitive body in some period by a reflected light quantity detector, and giving a warning in case a ratio to the light quantity in the following period exceeds a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A reflected light quantity detector 11 is attached to the downstream side of a transfer paper separating device 8 so as to be opposed to a photosensitive body 1, and only an irregularly reflected component from a light emitting diode 16 is photodetected by a phototransistor 17. When a separation of a transfer paper fails, an irregularly reflected component from a transfer paper whose surface is rough increases, and the separation failure is detected. A peak value of a reflected light quantity in some period of the photosensitive body 1 which does not contact with the transfer paper is made a reference, and when a ratio to the reflected light quantity from the photosensitive body 1 detected successively in the following period exceeds a prescribed value, a warning is given. Accordingly, even in case of a transfer paper whose transparent degree is high, the separation failure is detected exactly, and it is also possible to eliminate a malfunction for deciding whether the separation exists or not.</p> |
