PURPOSE:To reduce the amount used of working liquid and utilize the liquid effectively by a method wherein the device is constituted so that an electric discharge working spot in the gap of the parting line between first and second metallic dies is detected and the working liquid is injected and supplied through only a nozzle corresponding to the working spot. CONSTITUTION:When the electric discharge working is effected under approaching the upper and lower dies 1, 2 sequentially in a parting line mating work effected by the electric discharge, protuberances are removed by the electric discharge in the gap 5 of the parting lines, therefore, coinciding parting lines 3, 4 are obtained. Light beams, generated by the electric discharge, are directed to the position where the electric discharge is effected. Accordingly, the light is received by a photoelectric element 25 attached to the nozzle 23 nearest to the light source and, thus the spot whereat the electric discharge is being generated may be detected. A solenoid valve 24, corresponding to the detecting position, is opened and the working liquid is injected against the spot where the electric discharge has been started. Thus, the amount used of the working liquid may be reduced and the liquid may be utilized effectively.
