PURPOSE:To enable the use of a starting fluidized bed part even during actual operation and to prevent excessive growth of air bubble, by a method wherein heat transfer tubes located in a fluidized bed are aligned so that they form wall surfaces which divide a fluidized bed into small vertically-divided sections, and are disposed so that they have spacings sufficient to allow free movement of fluid medium through the wall surface to an adjoining section. CONSTITUTION:Heat transfer tube 6 located in a fluidized bed are disposed so that they form wall surfaces which divide a fluidized bed into small sections. The wall surfaces are communicated with each other by means of spacings so that fluid medium, such as silica sand, limestone, can move to an adjoining section therethrough. Further, right below the heat transfer tubes mounted in the fluidized bed which are disposed in a manner to have the wall surface constitution in a manner described above, nozzle holes 4 for blow-off air are provided. Further, horizontal columns 9, being a non-pressure resistant part, are disposed in a checkered manner. The arrangement may be, of course, made in zigzag, and it is essential that air bubbles, being the air blown off through the holes 4, are properly divided by the horizontal columns 9 which are best disposed so that the air bubbles are prevented from being put together to grow into bigger than a given size.
