Multifunctional radar device in which the beams of the circular antenna, of the phase-shift array type, are distributed in a star azimuthally and are oriented in elevation independently of one another. On transmission, the antenna 31 transmits omnidirectional radiation which irradiates the array 3. On reception, the antenna 31 effects an arrangement of the primary sources and of the receivers such that, after processing, the beams are distinct from one another. A variant consists in substituting the antenna 31 by a distributor connected directly to the array 3. A lens 2 disposed perpendicular to the axis of the array 3 has the purpose of detecting targets as far as the zenith. The multiplicity of beams allows rapid exploration of the detection volume and allows the target observation time to be increased. <IMAGE>
