TECHNIQUE FOR COMPLEMENTING COPYRIGHT CONTROLLING TECHNIQUE OF MEDIA FILE AND PROTECTING ORIGINALITY OF DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a technique for solving the problem of concern that the reliability of security of media files may be impaired by cracking activities with respect to media file data such as sound or moving image before encapsulation, or files encapsulated with functions of controlling their reproduction or copy themselves which are protected by existing multiple techniques for protection against unauthorized copy or unauthorized distribution. SOLUTION: A data row constituting a specific function is added into original data by using a digital watermark technique which is difficult to extract. The function is deactivated and does not act as long as the original controlling function by encapsulation or the like operates, but it has the capability of generating an irregular data row and changing the whole original data into the invisible and inaudible state when reproduction is performed in the absence of the original controlling function for some reason.
