<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a burner control device which offers no burning and melting of a trap, by stopping the regeneration of the trap when the temperature of exhaust gas downstream of a burner lowers below a predetermined value after the elapse of a predetermined time from the time when the difference between the temperatures of exhaust gas upstream and downstream of the burner exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:It is determined on whether the difference T1-TO, where TO is the temperature of exhaust gas upstream of a burner 4 and T1 is the temperature of exhaust gas downstream of the burner 4, is above a predetermined value, for example 100 deg.C, or not. If the temperature difference T1-TO is below 100 deg.C, the condition of unfiring is determined so that a fuel pump 9, a fuel control valve 10 and a glow plug 8 are deenergized. However, if it is above 100 deg.C, the condition of firing is determined so that whether the temperature T1 of exhaust gas downstream of the burner 4 is above a predetermined value, for example, 500 deg.C or not is determined after the elapse of a predetermined time. If the temperature is above 500 deg.C, the condition of continuation of combustion is determined while if it belows 500 deg.C, the condition of misfiring is determined so that the operation of the fuel pump 9 and the fuel control valve 10 is stopped.</p> |
