The invention relates to a guide for vehicle wheels in car washes, on assembly pits or the like. The guide (1) consists of two guide strips (2) which extend in the direction of travel, are distanced from one another and are in each case formed from a series of freely rotatable rollers arranged one behind the other. The rollers (4) likewise extend in the direction of travel (17) and have a maximum length of 350 mm. In this way, a vehicle wheel (5) which comes laterally onto a guide strip (2) always comes into contact with at least two of the rollers, which, owing to their freewheel, are able to follow the different movement directions of the two contact points with the vehicle wheel (5) and then rotate in opposite directions.
