<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the reproduction of digitally compressed information after recording the information. SOLUTION: An enciphered signal, viewing right information and guide information of a recorded program are recorded and charging is processed for each reproduction. Or a decoded signal after enciphering, viewing right information and guide information of the recorded program are recorded and reproduction is permitted only during a prescribed period based on viewing right information. Thus, reproduction is easily and surely restricted so that the information copying without limitation is prevented. Then the right of the owner of the copyright and that of a service provider are protected.</p> |
