PURPOSE:A resin sealant capable of forming a feedthrough excellent in water resistance and air tightness, prepared by adding a curing agent to a polyfluorinated epoxy resin or a mixture thereof with a different epoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:A curint agent is added to a polyfluorinated epoxy resin of the formula (wherein n>=0) or a composition prepared by mixing this resin with a different epoxy resin. If required, a variety of fillers, diluents, modifiers, pigments, vehicles, softeners, coupling agents, etc., may be suitably added. The resin composition thus produced can be used as a resin sealant for feedthrough. For example, a seal is made between a feedthrough mold 1 made of beryllium/copper and an optical fiber 2 passing therethrough with the resin sealant 3. It is also possible to increase the bondability by adopting a structure in which the resin sealant 3 is directly bonded to a fiber element glass 2 A which has been exposed by partially stripping the coating from the optical fiber 2.
